NEW GOOGLE UPDATES PROVIDES BUSINESS OWNERS WITH MORE CONTROL OVER THEIR PROFILES

Recent updates for Google My Business allows business owners to have more control over customer interaction and user reviews.

User-generated content has been the drive for Google’s listings. In fact, Google has been giving incentives to users (badges, insider rewards, number of views, etc.) who upload photos of business establishments.  Owners of those establishments have limited control over these user-generated photos. They cannot gain insights nor remove inappropriate pictures in their business pages.

With the latest update, these user-generated photos are now accessible to Business Owners.  These are particularly helpful in understanding customer’s interest, and in controlling how the businesses are shown in Google Search.  More importantly, it allows the business owners to find and control inappropriate contributions with ease.

Another update done by Google is their Google Posts, which was released last year.  Business Owners may post offers with specific information like coupon codes, terms and conditions, etc.

Photos are now optional, instead of required.  They have also made it more user-friendly.

Finally, Google brought back the Business Description in Google Places.  This was previously removed, but now realizing that describing “locations in your own voice” helps optimize the overall search experience, it is now again a feature of Google My Business.

All these new features are accessible through the Engage module of CiteMe.  If you want more information about these updates, please contact the CiteMe team at hello@citeme.com.ph.
